Several years back things got quite heated on the New and Gauley with lifejackets and not just at mystery hounds. I was stopped several times for wearing Rapidstyle pfd which is not CG approved, only ICF. We got around it by carrying a real pfd in the back of the boat. We liked to call it our bfd, bullshit flotation device. A few years ago I got stopped again on the Gauley wearing a LevelSix jacket and told to walk out, yeah right!! Not sure about TN law but in WV, an approved floatation in the back of the boat counts:) or atleast it use to.
