: : The one time I looked at this spot (I think it was late April; not sure what that means for water levels up there) it appeared that the river left channel was overwhelming the right channel and the seam trended right toward what looked to be a somewhat undercut wall on the right shore. I'm curious to hear what you guys think of it, so please post a report.
:
: Here is a report for you. Checked out Blue hole again after having played there last year and found some fun. The river right wall is fun, but is touchy (but fun - just don't go too far past vertical as it is a bit undercut - but manageable) for splats and water level dependent. 1500 seemed okay this year. BUT (and a big BUT), the fun seam that used to exist behind the island is gone with the high water levels experienced last year. The river left bank became steep and took away some of the flow that existed there. Anyway, Blue Hole was a bust when I went a couple of weeks ago.

: Now, onto Dizzyland. . . Take 1-90 East out of Seattle and go to Cle Elum exit. Follow the exit and road past the Safeway (cheapest gas around too) go to the second traffic light and turn Right. Follow this road across I-90. At what might seem to be the end of the road (only a block or two past I-90 overpass) turn left towards "Holden Pond". This will dead end into a county park with a pond on one side of the parking lot and the Yakima river on the other side. Drive to the end of the parking lot and park. Walk 40 feet to the river edge and the line(s) are apparent. It is obvious and the conveyor belt that feeds right into the seam makes this spot seem like an amusement park ride. There are two lines the upper eddy line is the best. We've been there when the Yakima is running at 3400 cfs and it is sinfully delicious. Truly a new NW classic. - Dale
